This project was a final for my first 3D modeling class in Maya. I was tasked with creating a complex model and given 1 month to model, UV, texture, and light the object. Modeling the scroll of the cello was the most challenging piece since it required I utilize all my knowledge of topology to create proper edge flow and quads. Texturing was done in Substance Painter and was a learning curve for me. Applying realistic textures was easy to drag and drop but deciding aesthetically where to place dirt and smudges was more difficult. Baking was a process that took longer than I anticipated but was useful to learn. This project taught me a lot about topology and lighting.
